covered in mud minutes before asking me. So romantic!
2012 due to distance and not seeing
each other and contact stopped completely.
That’s the short version, I’d be writing a novel if I wrote everything we
had been through........!
In September 2012 we started talking again and I came back to Devon
for a weekend. We spent some time
together and that was it, I decided I
had to come home. But there were a
few things I wanted; Our own place
and to get engaged. I moved back
over Christmas, in with his parents
and we got engaged February 2013.
I picked my ring, the proposal was
very simple, I knew it was happening and he knew I was going to say
We bought our first home in July
2013 which we spent the following
year renovating and making our
own. I started thinking about our
wedding whilst decorating and when
we could plan it for. It then occurred
to me, it would have been my grandparent’s diamond wedding anniversary in June2015. I had been very
close to my Grandad growing up and
he had passed away in 2012. I was
determined to get married on 4th
June 2015, 60 years after my Grandparents. Richard was happy with the
idea and families were supportive.
We booked Furrough Cross Church
in Torquay for midday and followed
it with a reception at The Edgemoor
Hotel in Bovey Tracey, both venues
were gorgeous.
I picked a Maggie Sotterro dress,
which I bought from Chameleon
in Bournemouth, it was perfect and
very me! I had decided we were having teal as our colour and picked an
Ebony Rose dress for my 2 bridemaids. The men all wore dark grey
suits from Next and I managed to
match the teal colour with some ties
and cravats online. Richard left me
to do most of the planning; he wasn’t
worried about the finer details like
picking invitations, favours or table plans. I just presented my final
choices after all m
