a house, but it will also be one of the most
magical; there’s nothing quite like the feel-
ing of saying your vows in front of your
friends and family, knowing you’ve pulled
the day together with a lot of imagination
and perseverance. We’re used to the task
by now, of course, but every wedding is
different. We never, ever get bored of help-
ing our couples to fulfill their dreams, and
I hope you’re able to approach your wed-
ding planning with the same enthusiasm.
I’m particularly jealous of anyone stepping
out at his or her first wedding fair. You are
taking your first steps down a very long,
and exciting road; enjoy every second.
By the time you read this column the fi-
nal preparations for this year’s Bristol and
Somerset Wedding Awards will be taking
place, madly behind the scenes. Until the
moment they set foot in the grand dining
room, our guests will have no idea of the
event’s theme – and I’m certainly not going
to spoil that now! They can rest assured
that we’ve created something spectacular,
though. The evening is one of my very fa-
vourites of the year, celebrating the cream
of our local wedding talent and honour-
ing those who have helped the charity
throughout the last twelve months. Many
of the evening’s guests have become firm
friends and supporters over the years, and
we love nothing more than lifting them
up and thanking them for all that they do.
I cannot tell you how long it took me to
find the perfect frock for the ceremony,
though...! My final piece of advice is this; remember
why it is you’re getting married. You can
model hundreds of dresses, taste endless
cake samples, and gaze over a myriad of
mood boards, but if you can’t remember
the butterflies you’d first inspire in one an-
other it’s time to take a step back. Breathe;
do you remember the moment you first
declared your love for another? Can you
recall where you were when you decided
to get married? These simple, precious
moments are the basis for your big day.
Everything else will fall into place in time;
try not to rush, or force the small stuff.
I hope that those of you who picked this
magazine up at The Big Day Wedding
Show have found everything you need,
and wanted for your special day. Planning
a wedding is likely to be the single most
stressful thing you do next to purchasing
You can keep up to date with the charity’s
goings on via our Facebook page or Twit-
ter handle, which is @Wedwishingwell.
We’re always keen to share our news and
fundraising efforts with our followers, so
come on over. Don’t forget that there are
dozens of ways that you can help the Wed-
ding Wishing Well Foundation; we’d love
to have you on board.
Until my next column,
Naomi x
ing ambassador Caroline has been work-
ing wedding fairs on our behalf in the last
few months, too. She’s raised much-need-
ed funds for us, as well as meeting and
greeting hundreds of brides and grooms
and suppliers; thank you, to everyone who
has been involved.
Have you thought about raising money for
a good cause this New Year? We’d love to
hear from you at info@weddingwishing-

raising ideas, or apply to join one of our

famous supermarket once said, every little
helps!
