old Jolly Farmer! I bumped into Na-
than there who thought I wanted a
drunk snog but turned him down and
told him to be a gentleman and take
me on a date. A week later we went
on our first date at The Barn Owl and
never left each other’s side since!
We met as teenagers through my
brother who was friends with Na-
than at school. Like many friendships
at that age, you lose touch when you
leave school and that’s when we went
separate ways.
Over the years we found each other
on Facebook and got to virtually know
each other. Nathan wasn’t a huge Face-
book updater but I was constantly up-
dating my life events and what I had
for dinner!
At the time I was living in Wales with
my daughter, Nesta (4 at the time), but
then moved back home (Devon) in
2012. On the 26th April 2014 I went
to Tuckers Malting Beer Festival with
some friends then ended up in good
In October 2015, Nathan whisked me
off to Paris with Nesta’s blessing. On
our first night Nathan took me for a
glam meal and wine, then walked me
to lovelock bridge and got down on
one knee and asked me to marry him.
This was potentially the single most
romantic act he has ever fulfilled and
completely blew me away. By the time
we were home the colour scheme,
bridesmaid and venue were booked!
I was in my last year of University
and working full time so we decided
to plan and book everything straight
away then I could focus on my degree.
We then had about a year of nothing
to do as all the wedding was planned
and booked!
Time crept upon us and the final
few months were exciting finalising
everything. Nathan had 1 job, the in-
vitations, which sadly he couldn’t cope
