Standing at the top of the aisle wait-
ing for my bride to be, thoughts of
how right this felt in my mind was
flowing through my head. As I’d been
married before, these feelings of calm
and happiness felt overwhelmingly
good. I knew I had met my soul mate,
it had taken 3 attempts but I was fi-
nally there. Family and friends from
both sides were there happily waiting
to enjoy our big day. Pauline’s mother
and father were watching via Skype,
all we needed was to see Pauline enter
the room. Minutes seemed like hours
waiting for her to arrive, but finally her
entrance music, Marry You by Bruno
Mars started. I turned round to see
this beautiful lady walking up the aisle
to meet me, people that knew me know
I’m not normally lost for words, but on
this occasion I was speechless. Pauline
looked stunning, flanked by her son
Robert, sister Gill, page boy Ben Elms
and flower girl Summer Andrews. Our
service was a happy joyous event, bril-
liant readings by Pauline’s nieces Alys-
sa and Mel, and the odd bit of laughter
mixed in. We exchanged our vows and
kissed to “seal the deal”. A kiss that
lasted ages followed. Cheers and claps
followed from family and friends. But
The Reception at Hillhead.
Both myself and Pauline couldn’t have
wished for a better venue than Hill-
head for our wedding reception, when
Kelly offered us the chance to have it
there we didn’t hesitate. It was where
we had met all those years ago, it was
like coming full circle with our love
story. It had taken us a few days with
friends help, to decorate this fab-
ulous place. Our table decorations

we were Mr and Mrs Wheatley finally.
I don’t think the smiles were taken off
our faces for the whole day if I’m hon-
est. As we walked back down the aisle
we could both see that Pauline’s moth-
er and father were both crying which
also set Pauline off crying, I too had
a lump in my throat seeing this. We
gathered outside for the photographs
to begin, a lovely hot February day,
the hottest day of the year so far ap-
parently. Lots of amazing photographs
were taken, and plenty of smiles from
family and friends only too happy to
have their pictures taken with us. As
guests filed out from Lupton to head
off to the reception, myself and my
new bride had some more one on one
photographs taken with Lee outside
this fabulous house and then inside.
Once the photo’s had been done at
Lupton we climbed into our wedding
car, kindly provided by our friends
Jamie and Katie Fry. Off to Hillhead
we went, ready for an evening of more
happiness, and celebrations…………..
the meet and greet had finished with
our guests we all went outside for the
official photographs with Lee.
