adventures. I had been going through
some marital difficulties with my third
wife, things weren’t good at all and
in the end we separated and I moved
back to Brixham. There was a period
of reflection for myself and a certain
amount of stability after this divorce.
So as you can imagine I wasn’t looking
for a new relationship, that’s until I got
to know Pauline a lot better.
We grew together in a lot of ways, we
liked similar things and laughed at the
majority of things on a daily basis that
occurred, and liking the same music
too. It was so refreshing to have some
fun and laughter after the heartaches
we both had when our previous re-
lationships failed. Our relationship
became a loving one so we decided
to take it to the next level, after a few
weeks we moved in together, and if I’m
honest we haven’t looked back since.
My family had taken to Pauline almost
immediately, as if they’d known each
other for years, as Pauline’s family had
taken to me and made me a part of
their family in return. The weeks and
months went by and in August 2014 I
asked Pauline to marry me, just before
I asked Pauline this most important of
questions, I had rung Pauline’s father
to ask his permission for her hand in
marriage. He had the call on speaker
phone and as I asked him I could hear
Pauline’s mum scream out with joy,
so I guess she and her father was over
the moon at my request to marry their
daughter. He said yes of course !! They
were so happy for us, and overjoyed
that Pauline had finally met her soul
mate and was going to be settled.
