Rachel Young
Rachel Young was born in Newport News , VA . She is the proud mother of Isabella Faith , age 6 , and Bryant Timothy , age 5 . When Rachel found herself pregnant with her second child , she knew she needed to leave their father , who was very abusive . Rachel found her way to Mary ’ s Shelter , a maternity home in Fredericksburg , VA . She spent three years there and took full advantage of that time to better her and her children ’ s lives . While at Mary ’ s Shelter , Rachel earned her GED and Certified Nursing Assistance License . She began her course work at Germanna Community College graduating with honors , all while working as a server at a local restaurant and taking care of her babies . Rachel eventually moved into her own apartment , continued at Germanna , and recently earned her degree as a Registered Nurse . Rachel has now begun her new career as an RN at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg . Rachel has remained very close to the staff at Mary ’ s Shelter and wants to come back as a volunteer and encourage other young women on how they can reach their goals . Rachel enjoys taking her children to parks , gymnastics , and the library . When she is not studying her own books , she loves reading to her children . Rachel currently resides in Fredericksburg and hopes now to begin the process of looking to purchase a forever home for her and her children .
