Life’s An Event
Plan some activity
Once your guests have arrived and costumes have been admired, it’s time for some fun. Why not entertain
your guests with one of these fun activities:
•
•
•
•
•
Pumpkin carving
Bobbing for apples
Haunted garage
Scary story telling
Who dunnit Mystery Game
• Caramel apple station
• Costume parade
• Mysterybowls
(feel & guess what it is)
• Scavenger Hunt
Hauntingly Delightful
If you’re going to haunt your house,
garage, yard, or just want to add some
scare to your get together keep in
mind the following pointers.
• Keep it simple. Less is more.
• Remember your audience:
Sometimes for kids all you need
is to startle them, whereas adults
may need more.
• Things don’t always have to be
gory to be scary.
• Play to fears and phobias (spiders,
clowns, snakes, darkness, mice).
• Music and Sound Effects set the
mood.
• Props can be simple, and effective.
• Distractions (someone looking at
a prop is easily startled).
• Keep the time of day in mind:
At night some things that are
scary or detailed during the day
become invisible due to darkness.
During the day it can be harder
to startle if you can be seen, but
easier to see detailed props.
• Darkness alone can be frightening.
• The internet is full of resources.
