Our Legacy for Kiawah Island
Frequent wildlife encounters are one of the most exciting aspects
of life on Kiawah Island. It is a unique setting where native landscapes,
wildlife and people coexist, a place where wonderful memories are made.
Plant and animal life thrive on Kiawah because of its balanced
ecosystem. It is our responsibility as a community to preserve the delicate
balance that provides a haven for our native plants, habitat for wildlife and
the opportunity for residents and guests to enjoy the nature experiences
afforded by this special place.
The Kiawah Conservancy is committed to understanding the
critical natural habitat needed to maintain a healthy, balanced and diverse
population of native plants and animals on Kiawah Island. Its support of
research, educational forums, community outreach, land preservation and
habitat enhancement programs are examples of the many ways the Kiawah
Conservancy works to protects the Island’s habitat.
Enjoying this pristine environment is a rare privilege, yet it is not
for us alone. The Kiawah Conservancy is committed to preserving and
protecting the natural habitat of the Island for future generations.
