PHOTOGRAPHER: SIERRA POWERS Q1 What do you do for a living? SP: Sell shoes and snap photos. livin the life. Q2: Can you tell me about your Company? SP:Photography has been a hobby since I was fourteen, but I didn't start to look at it seriously as a career until I was seventeen. Q3: what kind of path did you travel that led you to were you are today? SP: I chose to do a lot of things the hard way, like to learn through experience. I've been away from my parents since I was sixteen, and was on my own a lot earlier than most other kids my age. I've had an amazing support system through friends and adopted family though. I try to look at the dif ficult times as being something positive, a learning experience at the very least. Q4: is it hard to be in the position you are in at such a young age and what's the hardest thing about being a photographer? SP:Sometimes it can be pretty frustrating, when my work and ambition isnt taken seriously by those older than me. But I really see my young age being to my advantage. This is such a transformational and vibrant part of life, and I love being able to capture some of that recklessness, underrated elegance and inspiration of our youth culture. Q5: What is makes your shoots and shots unique? I mostly shoot natural light, I do enjoy studio work, and that comes with its own unique potential, but I love to challenge myself to shoot during differnt times of the day. harsh lighting and unorthodox I
