Software that we used:

Adobe Photoshop:

When it came to editing the photos for our CD package, we used Photoshop to edit the band member photos that we had taken, to make them fit more with the overall aesthetic that we were going for for the genre of our band (Pop/rock). Things that we did consisted of things such as editing the band members hair to be darker, so as they would stand out more from the background (such as on the CD front and back cover, as we wanted to stick with the comic/horror kind of theme that we were going for).

We also used Photoshop to create the updated band logo that we did (with the painted yellow background) as we thought that it would look a lot more professional than the one that we originally created on Paint.

For the back cover of our CD booklet, we used Photoshop to remove the background off of a band photo that we had taken in one of our sessions. As I have previously.

Paint:

On paint, I drew the falcon that we used for our band logo, using a template from the internet to give me an outline. We wanted to do this on paint as we wanted it to be a kind of hand drawn/sketchy style, as we thought that it went well with the genre of our band.We also originally completed the full band logo on this software, however, when we updated it to make it look more professional, we used Photoshop to paint in a different background (the yellow one). This therefore demonstrated how we originally worked with this software(as we knew how to work it the best), however, we then used a more complex one to create a more professional design.

Wix:

To create our band website, we used Wix.com, which allowed us to create an organised, well laid out website that could inform our audience of everything we needed it to (including things such as gig dates and locations, galleries where photos of the band members could be found and the band’s music and their album).

I think that this platform was also useful as it was quite easy to use (meaning we could use a template to start us off)

Although this platform was very helpful and gave us things we could work with, it also gave us some freedom to create a website in a style that we wanted to, so as our audience would know what type of band we are (Rock/pop).

The font that we found on this platform also became the font that we used on our CD package, as we thought that it matched well with how we wanted to portray our band (it was a modern font).

YouTube:

post a video about our audience feedbak for our evaluation question 3 (recording ourself for visual feedback, which is more interacting for the viewers). We used this in research and planning to do things such as look at other student's past music videos, as well as real music videos. We did this to give ourselves inspiration for our own music video, as well as allowing us to see what the conventions of particular genres are (which was also useful when creating our own, as we could see when we were following and challenging conventions).

We also used YouTube to post drafts of our music video and to

Social media:

We used social media a lot when it came to making everything seem realistic (making our band seem like a real thing).

For example, we were able to create social media pages for our band, such as an Instagram page, a Facebook page and a Twitter page etc.

On our Instagram, we posted photos leading up to the release of our music video (which we have seen other bands do). For example, we posted things such as shots from our filming and behind the scenes photos (photos of us actually filming).

On our Facebook page, we added the tour dates that we had added on our band website, therefore keeping continuity throughout all of our work, as a real band would do 9we also posted our final music video).

On our Twitter page, we also did a similar thing, including an introduction Tweet, letting our audience know who our band are.

Therefore, by using social media, it demonstrated how we were able to create more than one platform, making our band seem more realistic.

Presentation Softwares:

Throughout my research and planning, I used a lot of different software’s to present my work. These consisted of things such as emaze, visme, piktochart, slideshare and easel.ly. This demonstrated how I was able to discover and learn how to use different software’s, and present my work in a more exciting way. (Using these different technologies also expanded my knowledge).
