Due to the potentially harsh climatic conditions, especially in the summer, and the potential high levels of salt in the existing soils, extensive design precautions have been taken in the selection of both the grass and the irrigation system.

As the first seeded paspalum blend, Platinum Pure Dynasty has been used for all the playing surfaces. It benefits from fast establishment, tight density, great disease resistance, and improved spring green-up. With Platinum TE as one of the genetic parents, Pure Dynasty shares the benefits of salt tolerance when mature, quick recovery, dark green colour, and an upright growth habit for excellent playability.

After an initial phase of construction in 2008, work began in earnest in 2014 and continued until the spring of last year when the final grassing took place. Under the guidance of Patrick Ryan, the Director of Agronomy, with whom we’ve previously worked at The Royal Golf Club, Bahrain and The Dutch in Holland, the course matured beautifully and was ready for a soft opening in December.

While it’s a little early to share the news now, there are exciting announcements to be made shortly about the future of the course.
