LYNGEN
Experience the magic of the Aurora Borealis and winter activities in the Arctic Circle on this holiday at the Lyngen Experience, about two hours’ drive from Tromsø. Whilst Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed, the best chance to experience the green and mauve spectacles in the night skies is between November and March, with the darkest nights being from late November to end of January. There are three other winter Arctic activities included: a whale safari, a visit to the Aurora spirit whisky distillery, snowshoeing, a snowmobile experience and dog sledding. The hotel supplies winter clothes for outdoor use here: a warm suit, shoes and mittens. Full board excluding drinks is also included here. One night at the end is spent in Tromsø. Soak up the winter atmosphere in this relaxed city with its traditional architecture and strong connections to the Polar region. There are museums, shops, restaurants, cable car, and Arctic cathedral.
NOTES Please note that children under the age of 12 years are not accepted on the Lyngen activities. Arrivals at Lyngen for this package must be on a Thursday. This works with the British Airways flights, with one night included in Tromsø at Clarion the Edge at the end.
