AirTies - Stand 5, B33
The wireless networking and
STB company will be unveiling
its latest generation of wireless
video bridges and STBs. Making
its global début will be AirTies'
next generation wireless STB,
the Air 7405, one of the first
STBs to meet the new HEVCH.265 video decoding
standards.
Solving both Wi-Fi coverage
and bandwidth problems within
the home using its Mesh
Technology, AirTies will also be
demonstrating its latest
Wireless Video Solutions. The
Air 4820 is the world’s fastest
wireless bridge using a single
chipset, the Quantenna 4x4
802.11ac with beamforming,
which increases delivery speeds
from 600 Mbps to 1.7Gbps;
simultaneously streams up to
ten HD videos to multiple
devices around the home.
AirTies will also be
announcing new technology
partnerships, as well as
demonstrating its new cloud
application that allows
consumers to view the topology
of their home network and the
traffic flows therein. Via its
interactive user interface, the
cloud application is planned to
assist users or operators in
troubleshooting any problems
with the performance, speed
and coverage experience in the
home.

The provider of technology and
solutions for identifying,
managing and monetising
content will showcase the
future of Automatic Content
Recognition (ACR) and the
latest advances in content
protection. Highlights include
the latest developments in

Civolution’s SyncNow ACR
technology and major new
functionality for its NexGuard
Streaming suite of content
protection solutions.
“The second screen has
become an integral part of the
TV viewing experience and
more content than ever is
shared over IP, driving a new
era in content consumption,”
said Alex Terpstra, CEO,
Civolution. “Over the past
twelve months we’ve been
working hard to expand the
capabilities of SyncNow and
NexGuard to help create an
ecosystem that is more
interactive and secure, which is
what we will be demonstrating
at IBC this year.”
DVB - Stand 1, D81
Following the approval in July
of the specifications for the use
of HEVC in the DVB
environment and DVB-UHDTV
Phase1, which was seen as a
significant step in the road to
Ultra High Definition TV
services, DVB continues to
make progress towards the
next phase in the UHD
standardisation process.
DVB’s main concentration
will be to demonstrate how the
coding efficiency of HEVC can
be used to increase the
capacity of the DVB-T2
terrestrial platform as well as
for the new DVB-S2X satellite
standard. Utilizing HEVC
encoding, multiple UHD
services will be delivered using
DVB-S2X and multiple HD
channels over DVB-T2.
The DVB-S2X demonstration
will highlight the new standard
that offers spectral efficiency of
up to 50% for professional
applications. S2X will be
implemented with HEVC to
deliver four UHD signals at a
data rate of 100 Mbit/s. DVBS2X provides more choices for
roll-off factors as well as
additional modulation and
Forward Error Correction
options that allow for the more
efficient use of satellite
transmission channels. It
enables channel bonding of up
to three satellite channels,
which support higher
aggregate data rates and allow
for additional statistical
multiplexing gain for services
such as UHDTV.
In another demonstration up
to seven HEVC encoded High
Definition channels will be
delivered in one multiplex
using DVB-T2 in a robust mode
suitable for small indoor
antennas and portable
reception. Both fixed reception
and mobile reception will be
demonstrated.
