Euromedia take a look at what to expect in Cologne. PREVIEW H eading the line-up of congress panellists is Liberty Global’s president and CEO Michael T Fries, who will join ANGA COM’s TV Summit in the wake of approval of Liberty’s Virgin Media takover. The Summit kicks off the accompanying congress programme. The top-level podium discussion addresses the topic ‘Networks and Content: Who pays the Bill?’ discussing the future distribution of added values between network operators and TV broadcasters. Fries joins Prof. Dr. Karola Wille (chairwoman Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk), Conrad Albert (managing board ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG), Dr. Andreas Bereczky (director production ZDF), Dr. Adrian von Hammerstein (CEO Kabel Deutschland), Dietmar Schickel (MD Tele Columbus) and Brian Sullivan (CEO Sky Deutschland). The event (Cologne Fair Grounds, June 46) has attracted 450 exhibitor registrations from 36 countries, with predecessor ANGA Cable in 2012 totalling 16,000 business visitors, 50% of them international. Besides the traditional fields of Broadband (Next Generation Networks) and Content Delivery, this year’s key topics are Smart TV, Multiscreen and Connected Home. “Our exhibition hall is fully booked,” said ANGA’s MD Dr Peter Charissé. “Around broadband and TV, our visitors can expect an ideal combination of international suppliers and experts from medium-sized businesses. With the topics ‘Bandwidth Development’ and ‘Carriage Fees’, our congress programme could hardly be more up-to-date.” Ag
