NAB Show 2018
NAB Show is the ultimate marketplace for solutions that transcend traditional broadcasting and embrace content delivery to new screens in new ways. Euromedia takes an early look at what visitors can expect.
NAB Show, held April 7-12, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, is the world’ s largest convention encompassing The M. E. T. Effect; the convergence of media, entertainment and technology. From creation to consumption, across multiple platforms and countless nationalities, NAB Show is where global practitioners convene to bring content to life in new and exciting ways
CBS News Digital’ s top executive Christy Tanner will keynote the Online Video Programme at the show on Tuesday, April 10. The session will explain how CBSN, CBS News’ streaming video news service launched in 2014, is creating new value for viewers, advertisers and CBS Corporation.
“ Online video continues to be a huge force shaping the content marketplace for both consumers and industry stakeholders,” said NAB executive vice president of conventions and business operations, Chris Brown.“ We look forward to Ms. Tanner sharing her expertise in this critical space and how traditional media can implement and enhance digital strategies to succeed in today’ s multiplatform environment.”
The one-day Online Video Programme covers a diversity of topics, including over-thetop( OTT) content, live-streaming, crossscreen targeting / delivery, mobile consumption and emerging platforms, among others. The programme is geared toward senior digital media executives and other video, television, streaming and MVPD professionals.
The show will debut the Streaming Summit, a one-day conference on Wednesday, April 11 at the Westgate Hotel. The programme, which is co-produced by streaming industry expert Dan Rayburn, will focus on the dynamics of the streaming media business, from advances in technology to monetisation opportunities and content offerings.
The Summit brings together broadcasters, publishers and enterprise organisations to educate and empower those tasked with the creation, monetisation, and delivery of video across all platforms. From OTT to live streaming, the Streaming Summit will address a wide range of topics such as live linear workflows, transcoding, and distribution. Case studies, technical presentations and panel sessions will provide attendees with insight into new business models and technology platforms expected to impact the industry.
“ As video streaming services continue to gain immense popularity, media and technology
companies must evolve to meet the demand for quality content when and where consumers want it,” said Brown.“ The NAB Show has more attendees, vendors, customers and analysts all tied to the video market than any other show in the world,” said Rayburn.“ The Streaming Summit will educate and empower attendees with the information and tools needed to understand and leverage streaming and online video services for the good of their business and the industry as a whole.”
Away from the conference rooms, the more than 1,800 exhibitors will seek to attract the attention of the anticipated 100,000 + visitors from 161 countries. Here are a few exhibitors that have caught the Euromedia editorial team’ s eye.

Tedial- Stand N1420 The MAM technology solutions specialist plans to introduce Smart LIVE, which it claims is the world’ s most comprehensive live event support tool and a major breakthrough in sports production.
