ABOUT EUROM
The European Observatory on Memories , based at the University of Barcelona ’ s Solidarity Foundation , is an international network established in 2012 dedicated to fostering dialogue on historical memory .
By building synergies between academia , institutions , cultural centers , and civil society , we aim to promote fundamental rights and values through respect for diversity .

KEY INITIATIVES
Commemorations and Memorial Sites Promoting and analyzing the role of commemorations and memorial sites in transmitting and reflecting on past struggles today .
Temporary Exhibition “ Pioneer Women of the EU ”
The projects and activities we run reflect on the history of a struggles for freedom and democracy . Together with our partners , we address the complexities of historical and transnational memories , aiming to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive , tolerant , and solidaristic society .
Education and Training Developing curriculum materials and running seminars and workshops for professionals , teachers , and students based on historical research to foster fundamental rights in the present .
Research and Debate Supporting original research and publications that explore the memory of historical events and create spaces for discussion from a contemporary perspective .
Raising Awareness and Citizens ’ Engagement Contributing to the socialization of memory policies and encouraging citizens ’ participation through conferences , exhibitions , and cultural events , raising awareness about the influence of the past on the present .
NETWORK
Advocating for geographic plurality and social diversity , our network actively collaborates with universities , memory sites , museums , governments , and grassroots organizations to ensure that memory remains an integral part of Europe ’ s cultural and social fabric .
