FOREWORD
The letters in this magazine are written by students
who are 10 years old. They are all 4th grade students
and it is unbelivable to see how aware they are about
the problems around and they all have an idea about
how to solve those problems they have detected so
far. I am really surprised to have so many students
wanted to express their feelings and I am amazed
about their opinions.

This activity “what I would do if I were a president, if I
ruled this country” started in order to give us
(teachers) some hints about what our students think
about the status quo and what they really wished the
world to be. Our aim was to use their suggestions and
make some of them real in order to make the world a
better place. We let their imaginations soar and had
exciting results.
Some of the letters were so touching and inspiring that
it reminded me a quote of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk-the
founder of the Turkish republic. He says: “All my hope
is in youth!”
I am very proud of these children. So I agree with the
quote and I’d like to conclude this part by saying as
long as we breathe, there is hope about the future.
