The colosseum is one of the most historical monument in the world. Is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. The colosseum could hold more or less 80.000 specattors. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles , animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. In 2018 it was the most popular tourist attraction in the world, with 7,4 mln visitors. His name is a legend. The name colosseum is belived to be derived from a colossal statue of nero that once stood Nearby. This statue was leater remodeled by nero’s successor into the likeness of helios, the sun god. The colosseum is an important part of our past and future.
