National heritage site in Belgium Bruges is a national heritage site because the centre of the city remained medieval. It has also got other national heritage site characteristic because it has a belfry as in some other Belgian towns and cities and a former Beguine convent. This town is situated in West Vlaanderen, a province in Flanders.
