8 . Inflation and volatility will be hallmarks of 2022
The majority of investors are in agreement that inflation and volatility will be key focuses for next year . Some 82 % of respondents said 2022 will be the year of volatility while 81 % said it will be the year of inflation . Furthermore , 76 % said it would be the year of interest rate rises , in line with the Fed which , in December , signalled three hikes during 2022 . Elsewhere , views on emerging markets were mixed with 42 % claiming it would be the year of EM while 37 % said they were unsure and 21 % said it would not be .
