Meet the robots that will
replace you...
Meet our advisory board
We are pleased to have a number of experts from the world of optics on board to
offer opinions and guidance on our CET and journal content.
Welcome to our Spring edition of etCETera.
The Eyecare team have had a busy start to
the year with our Eyecare 2017 conference
and exhibition in January being our busiest
event to date. Read an independent review of
Eyecare 2017 on page 8.
In 2017, it feels as though we are on the
cusp of a technological revolution – where
robots are set to replace taxi and lorry drivers
in the not too distant future. But if you
thought opticians were irreplaceable, then
think again. Turn to page 10 to ‘Meet the
robots who may replace you’.
When performing an eye examination,
the Opticians Act requires that optometrists
‘examine the eye and its surroundings’ for
abnormality or disease. Specialist Nurse in
Dermatology, Isabel Lavers discusses the most
common skin lesions you will be likely to find
and how to manage these on page 12.
Finally, turn to page 18 to see an overview
of some of our most popular pieces of online
interactive CET, available at our website
www.cetpoints.com – remember if you are
new to the website, your first CET is on us!
