Eyecare raises
£15,000
for World Sight Day
The 3rd annual Cycling for Sight charity bike
ride took place on Sunday 28th August, where
dedicated cyclists from around the UK joined forces
to raise funds for Vision Aid Overseas. Eyecare
organised three routes - two on the road
(a choice between 140km or 72km route) and
a mountain biking route, covering 28km.
Cycling for Sight 2016 raised £15,000 for Vision Aid
Overseas. We would like to thank everyone who took
part in the Eyecare event and Tim Bowden who cycled
separately from London to Paris. Well done to everyone
who cycled and to those who donated to this special cause.
Vision Aid Overseas in an international charity
dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to
eye care in developing countries. 640 million people –
10% of the world’s population – are disadvantaged by
poor vision and a lack of spectacles. The money raised
from this event will enable Vision Aid Overseas to
continue to bring affordable eye care and spectacles
to more children and adults in Africa.
