State Investment Reaches $ 2 Million for Florida Museum of Black History
State leaders reaffirm their commitment while the Foundation expands advocacy, partnerships, and community engagement across Florida.
Every great institution begins long before its doors open, this quarter represents another important milestone in our journey.
While many projects across Florida were reduced or vetoed during this year ' s budget process, funding for the Museum remained intact— a meaningful demonstration of the importance of preserving Black history throughout our state.
Another $ 1 million appropriated in Florida ' s FY 2026 – 2027 State Budget, total state investment has now reached $ 2 million, reaffirming the importance of preserving and sharing Florida ' s Black history for generations to come. Foundation Chairman Howard Holley noted, " This funding represents more than a financial investment— it is a commitment to preserving the rich history, culture, and legacy of Black Floridians."
We proudly celebrate as we continue building partnerships throughout the state, we remain focused on expanding awareness, strengthening our Foundation, and inviting individuals, organizations, and communities to become part of this historic effort.
