A night in Paris – oops, Parys – is just a
short drive down the N1. Check out the
(mini) Eiffel Tower, order a fabulous haute
couture dress at Werner Dey, and have a
round of golf at Vaal de Gráce in the river
(OK, on an island in the river), or go for
a fun and reasonably challenging, but not
too hectic, paddle on the Vaal. On the
river, not in the river (hopefully). Forget
the Paris vibe and go for beer instead of
wine – this is the Free State, after all. Taste
some craft beer, have a meal and even
do beer and food pairings at the Dog and
Fig. And stay over at the comfy Thabela
Thabeng Mountain Retreat, with a view
of ground zero, where the Vredefort
meteorite landed – a while back. A good
imagination helps.
