Established in 2000,
Msimang Coetzee Architects has worked on
some of the most important buildings
within the province of KwaZulu-Natal, including
the Moses Mabhida Soccer Stadium and
King Shaka International Airport.
Other projects successfully carried out include office buildings, affordable housing
complexes, community centres, schools, additions to a hospital, refurbishment of a
shopping centre and a supreme court, training centres, libraries, art centres, lecture
theatre complexes and various private houses.
The team has worked together on many projects, so, while they can’t actually read
each other’s minds, it almost seems as if they can. They are all equally committed
to creating buildings that fit into their environment, and that encourage and enable
equitable com munity interaction. After designing several homes in the luxurious
Palm Lakes Family Estate on KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast, and Victoria Country
Club Estate in Pietermaritzburg, the partners realised that designing homes for
residential estates is creatively rewarding because it enables them to conceptualise
how each house is part of a greater whole.
