From the 18-hole, par-72 links-style golf course, with views
of Table Mountain across the bay, offering many paths along
the fynbos where you can see a variety of birds, and even a
bokkie or two if you’re quiet, to the leisure centre with its pool
and state-of-the-art gym, there is so much to do on the estate.
Just beyond the discreet, but incredibly efficient security
entrances, the local town of Melkbosstrand offers plenty
more, including various shopping centres catering to all
needs, along with business hubs and top-end restaurants.
Surfing and kiteboarding are available on Atlantic Beach’s
doorstep, with loads of great mountain-bike trails, some great
horse stables nearby, and some lovely hiking trails.
VILLAGE LIFE
Made up of 16 villages spread across 173 hectares of
landscaped gardens, golf course, fynbos and wetlands,
Atlantic Beach is a welcoming place for young families and
retirees alike, who all enjoy the active lifestyle the estate offers,
along with the unrivalled views. It’s not surprising then that the
estate has turned into a thriving, close-knit community. With a
weekly newsletter and some great events on offer, such as the
monthly night market at the Leisure Centre, and the annual
Village Fair, there is plenty to experience without ever having
to leave. Along the walking paths you’ll find beautiful wooden
book exchange units, enhancing the community feel and
participation.
NATURAL ATTRACTIONS
S
‘ Every home, every road and every building has
been designed to preserve the unspoilt natural
heritage of one of the most beautiful coastlines
in the world. All elements of the estate were built
with a serious commitment to the preservation
of the indigenous fauna and flora. This has
resulted in an abundance of wild animals
remaining on and around the estate as well as
a rich abundance of fynbos species, and we run
ongoing programmes to retain and reinstate this
natural resource. ’
Part of the Cape Floristic Region, Atlantic Beach
Estate is situated in a botanical hotspot – and
right near the oceans edge. This, says CEO
Harry White, is a great blessing and a privilege,
but also a huge responsibility.
