Estate Living Digital Publication Issue 6 June 2015 | Page 4
EDITOR′S LETTER
The chilly, wet and unwelcoming winter
is well and truly here, chasing us all
indoors, but the new season marks a
change in so much more than just the
weather. At Estate Living, we are gearing
up for a phenomenal second half of
the year with some significant in-house
changes. As the new editor in chief, I am
extremely excited to take over the reins
from Jaimè-Lee van Sittert and steer the
Estate Living print and digital publication
to bigger and greater heights.
Our family is continuously growing
and is testament to our ongoing
successes. Having increased our print
run to 10, 000 to meet escalating
demand means we need more feet
on the ground and our fantastic new
partnership with Harambee, a youth
employment accelerator programme
aiming to tackle youth unemployment,
is proving rewarding for all. As South
Africans we have been celebrating
Youth Month and there is nothing more
satisfying than seeing the benefits of
harnessing the skills of the generation
of tomorrow, seeing them develop and
come of their own.
Family is so important, and the cold
weather usually makes us more inclined
to stay indoors, spending time catching
up with ours around a crackling fire and
sipping on warm drinks. Our residential
reviews focus on Woodland Hills Wildlife
Estate and Irene Glen – two stunning
estates that have the family at their core.
For those looking for a little winter sun,
the silky beaches of Mozambique offer
a wonderful escape with breathtaking
secure living.
We’ve looked at every type of family –
from those that eat clean, train mean
and stay lean and those that have made
it big in business to those that have
enjoyed musical successes the world
over. From schooling, insurance, golf
and even testing your own water, this
issue has the family at its core.
As legendary Michael J Fox once said
“Family is not an important thing, but
it is everything.”– so love and celebrate
yours this month. Be certain to view our
website at www.estate-living.co.za for
means to participate and subscribe to
our publication to win some excellent
prizes in the coming months.
Here’s to family!
