FRONT COVER:
Helderberg Retirement Estate
The estate community in South Africa
is a continuously expanding one,
with the retirement sector enjoying
a significant boom of late. In this, the
March issue of our digital magazine,
we have chosen to focus on classic
aspects of everyday life, with a
particular focus on retirement.
In our retirement living feature, we
take a look at Helderberg Retirement
Village. Tucked up neatly against the
slopes of the Helderberg Mountains,
in the heart of Somerset West,
the estate provides a little piece of
retirement paradise for those over
50. We visit the Retirement and
Lifestyle Expo, held in Cape Town, to
gain a greater understanding of what
drives this growing industry and the
underlying concerns of key industry
leaders.
Golf remains a classic sporting
pastime enjoyed by all South Africans,
including the retired and, in our
What’s Putting feature, we take a look
back at some of the famous players
to have made their name in the
sport. We convey this theme to the
classroom in our Curriculum feature,
focussing on the classic teaching
ideology of Curro Schools, a proudly
South African institution.
Indoors, classic styles such as
tasteful indoor gardens are making
a refreshing comeback, while Digital
Formalism artist Andzrej Urbanski
shows how clean, bright designs can
create edgy, yet classic, works of art.
Classic cars lend themselves to a
particular way of life from years
gone and the allure of owning one is
self-evident, for they are becoming
an increasingly viable investment
option. We unpack the insurance
considerations for vintage cars as well
as guidelines on who to choose as a
beneficiary for your estate.
Mauritius remains a sought after
holiday location for many and our
escape to the stunning Port Louis
shows us just why. Staying on the
tropical island, we also showcase
the spectacular Villas Valriche Estate
available for foreign investment.
This issue is all about embracing old
school traditions and we invite you to
take a trip down memory lane with us
as we look at original takes on classical
music in our I TUNE YOU feature.
Be certain to view our website at
www.estate-living.co.za for means
to participate and subscribe to our
publication to win some excellent
prizes in the coming months and
continue to enjoy the stimulating and
interesting content.
