BRANDING YOUR COURSE
Off the back tees and at 8 300 yards, Blair Atholl is the
third longest golf course in the world and so mindful of
the range of handicaps involved, the course had been
set up as a fair challenge and the players responded
to this and the overall condition of the course with
some excellent scores. Prizes were given up to 11th
place and the winning team from Dark Fibre Africa of
Innocentia Motau, Geoff Mabote, Patrick Tladi and
Sedise Moseneke was brought home by WPGA player
Tijana Krajelvic on a score of 79 points.
The other podium places were taken by Norman
Mashaba’s team from Thorburn Security of Tyrone
Roosendal, Dave Simpson, Bradley Lodder and
Thomoko Mahlaela who lost out narrowly on first
place on a count out and with Cliff Howes’ Price Forbe’s
team of Greg Dillon, Martin Venter, Brad Farrow and
Sondashi Mwalikwa coming home in third place on 78
points. The prizes were presented by Member of the
Mayoral Committee for Sport and Recreation, City of
Tshwane, Councillor Nozipho Tyobeka-Makeke, who
was assisted by the Blair Atholl club captain Mr. Alan
Rahme. Those guests, who lingered for a post dinner
coffee on the marvellous clubhouse terrace, after
the formalities had been completed, were treated to
a spectacular Highveld fire which lit up the horizon
briefly before being doused expertly by the estate’s
security teams.
