What are the benefits of reaching Presidential Diamond ? Why should someone want to reach it ?
Daniela : This is the key question . For me , the difference between Presidential Diamond and any other rank is that Presidential Diamond is a state of mind . You can ’ t hit Presidential if you aren ’ t ready to focus solely on creating an impact in other people ’ s lives . Changing your mindset requires breaking limited belief patterns you ’ ve always had .
You can get to Diamond by following systems , but you ’ re not going to pass Blue Diamond or above if you aren ’ t ready to give up any selfish tendencies . It ’ s not about you anymore . It ’ s about how much you can contribute to others ’ lives . Unfortunately , many people aren ’ t ready for that .
Any advice for couples working together within this business ?
Fernando : Make sure you know what you ’ re getting into . Communication is everything . Establish a solid understanding of what you expect from each other . If you can , put in writing what tasks and expectations you have and start moving in that direction . Be respectful and humble in regard to each other ’ s efforts . Love and respect have to be prioritized for it all to work .
We live in a chaotic world that suffers because we ’ re selfish , and we make excuses so we don ’ t have to feel responsible for each other . It ’ s about people , not about reaching a rank . It was hard for me to get to this point because I was trying to figure out what I was missing . It wasn ’ t until I realized that it wasn ’ t about me anymore that I broke through .
Our son passed away . He came and left , and it marked my life in a big way . He gave me a chance to start over and choose who I wanted to be . My job and mission are to give people hope and a chance for people to be who they want to be .
How do you find the balance between family and business ?
Daniela : We see dōTERRA as a member of our family . I don ’ t think there ’ s a way to have complete balance , because life has cycles . When you have a baby , you ’ re trying to integrate him or her into the family . Once you learn how to deal with the baby , he or she becomes a toddler , and you have to change the dynamic again . Our dōTERRA business is the same .
It ’ s important to integrate dōTERRA as part of your life . Our kids know they ’ re part of our business . Just as Fernando is finding his place in our business , they are as well . We ’ ve established our family culture in a way that they now think of dōTERRA as something positive in their lives , as something that belongs , rather than as something that takes their mom and dad away .
What motivates you to continue at this stage in your business ?
Daniela : When we first started , we were struggling . Now we can ’ t stop because we know there are people whose lives need to change , just like ours did . One little light can brighten the darkest place . People without hope are lost because they can ’ t see the light . We ’ ve been there , and now we want to be that light for others .
Fernando : Dani has always been driven by a bigger cause . In the beginning , it was her family and her own well-being . Now , it ’ s the fact that we have this gift and can share it with others . We have a responsibility to go beyond our comfort zones . We need to establish hope . It ’ s no longer about what I want .
