The Nolans! Who can forget “I’m In the Mood for Dancing” from 1979! It made Number 3 in the UK, Number 2 in Ireland, and Number 1 in, of all places, Japan! Known for their co-ordinated dance moves, not to mention spandex, the sisters have been struck by tragedy in recent years, with Bernie Nolan dying last year from cancer.

Boyzone’s most famous lineup comprised Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating, and Shane Lynch. The group were initially formed in 1993 in response to an advertisement for a new boy band – with the aim to find an “Irish Take That”.

In 2013 they reunited for their 20 year anniversary & released 5th studio album, “BZ20″ and in 2014 released “From Dublin to Detroit”, a celebration of Motown classics, which debuted at number 6 on the UK albums chart.

Another group of siblings, and another known for their use of traditional Irish instruments, The Corrs comprise three sisters Andrea, Sharon and Caroline, and their brother Jim. Currently on hiatus while Jim and Caroline raise their families, Andrea and Sharon are pursuing solo careers.

Westlife formed in 1998 & disbanded in 2012, with two farewell concerts at Dublin’s Croke Park in June that year.

They were most popular in Ireland and the UK & had 12 world tours. Most famously they played for the Sultan of Brunei, earning a staggering 2.5 million pounds to perform 7 songs in a private concert.

Including 14 # one UK singles, they made the UK top ten a total of 26 times in their 14 year career.

Since disbanding, the members have continued in the music industry, with moderate success. Brian McFadden left the group in 2004.
