Savant has introduced Savant Shades, its fi rst motorised shading
product range. Developed in partnership with window treatment
expert James Geiger and available exclusively through Savant, these
blinds are designed deliberately with a décor-conscious smart home
consumer in mind.
The shades are available in blackout, translucent and sheer
fabrics and are a fascia-free design — meaning that window boxes
concealing wires, screws or fasteners are no longer required,
resulting in a clean and smooth look.
Savant Shades are integrator-friendly. “The aim is for integrators
to have the ability to order and install the shades fast and super
easy,” says Tim McInerney, director of product marketing at Savant,
explaining how they can decrease cost and installation time. The
shades have a single motor system capable of driving multiple
shades and a unique two-phase installation process that enables
integrators to test mount the assemblies before the fabric is ordered,
maximising profi t opportunity and reducing fi tment errors.
Once installed, the shades can be confi gured using Savant’s
Blueprint software, which enables integrators to synchronise timing
and set stop limits. Additionally, Savant has designed a modern
eCommerce platform called The Savant Shade Designer, which
integrators can use to plan and price each job.

Lindy Electronics has launched an HDMI 2.0a 4K Audio Extractor &
Embedder, which can be used in both domestic and commercial
environments, allowing users to extract and embed audio from both
HDMI signals and digital HDMI ARC signals.
The Lindy HDMI 2.0a 4K Audio Extractor & Embedder is a multi-
functional device that allows users to overcome the challenges
of installing AV equipment. With support for UHD 4K resolutions
(including 4K 60Hz 4:4:4, HDR 10 4:2:0 AND HDCP 2.2), it is built for
compatibility with state of the art technologies.
The extractor function is useful in a variety of situations,
including the extraction of audio from a HDMI source device
such as a Blu-ray player (via TOSLink or a 3.5mm audio
cable) and played back through an amplifi er, active
speaker or sound bar. Alternatively, those who
wish to embed audio, in place of the original HDMI
audio track, can do so via connecting TOSLink or a
3.5mm audio cable to the Extractor & Embedder.
