The CAI To Announce Sky Q Scheme

The CAI ’ s senior executive , Tim Jenks has noticed a number of recent enquiries from CAI installers struggling to maintain good relationships with their landlord clients who in turn are struggling to understand the technical requirements of an IRS to cope with Sky Q .

The introduction of Sky Q as the default receiver for new subscribers has driven the trade forward on upgrading IRS that is compatible with the new boxes , The CAI reports . Single dwellings present few problems , but existing IRS in flats struggles to provide the necessary protocols required to make a Sky Q functional without the additions of ‘ dSCRS ’ to extend the breadth of down-conversion required for the multi-layers of recording available .

Tim visited Sky to consult with Sky Homes – the arm of Sky that handles multi-dwelling IRS development , and agreed that in conjunction with Alltrade – one of the CAI ’ s largest distributor members – the CAI will soon publicise a scheme that allows CAI members to obtain Sky Q switches from Alltrade as well as gaining financial reward for registering their compatible systems with Sky .

The CAI will be writing to all CAI system installers very soon detailing the scheme .
