Essential Install | EI Live! 2017 Review Alltrade was just one of the many exhibitors who enjoyed a steady stream of visitors throughout the show HEADLINE SPONSOR 22 | May 2017 Trading Places! This year’s show was packed full of fresh introductions and show exclusives; EI presents just a few of the many highlights from a top two days of install innovation. Visitors couldn’t miss the return of show sponsor, HDANYWHERE’s ‘floating palace,’ which this year housed an enthusiastic team who were demonstrating the uControl App, including Alexa integration functionality. HDANYWHERE also used the show to launch its ‘Beyond The Box’ initiative, inviting installers to become a HDA Pro and profit from its new business support tools, which include tech tools that save time and money and sales and marketing support to help find more customers. The company was also focussing on the MHUB 4K Pro, which is optimised to do more, with less hardware with a strong choice of models and functionalities. “This year’s EI Live! was another win-win for exhibitors and attendees,” said HDANYWHERE’s MD, Chris Pinder. “It’s a great advert for an industry clearly in its ascendency. We were proud to be the primary show sponsor at EI Live! this year and were impressed with the number of visitors who came to see us during the two-day show. I hope our technical showcase, our hands-on-demos and our van wrap giveaway impressed attendees as much as we think it did. “Unarguably, the numbers suggest that this has been the best year yet in our four years of attendance as we recorded the highest interest in our products and services. As an ambitious company and a challenger brand, we must seize every opportunity to show installers, new and old, exactly what HDA has to offer and I think EI Live! is the best place to do just that.” Exterior AV was a big theme at the show and although exterior speakers are well established, exterior TV is perhaps a little further behind. EI Live! did its bit to move the sector on with the launch of the Aquavision Horizon, the brand’s first exterior TV. IP66 rated, the set is based on the established Silhouette interior set, is 50mm deep and comes with enhanced heat dissipation abilities. The TV is able to handle a temperature range of -40° up to 110° with no problem. There is a two-year on-site warranty available, supported directly by Aquavision. Invision is the UK distributor. Another UK debut went to the exterior TV from Videotree. Described as a high-end exterior TV, the set offers a really bright screen, anti-glare technology and IP66 rating. This fanless design is another double-tough TV and is suited to marine as well as domestic situations. The manufacturer expects the product to be launched in the middle of this year. Another new product on the stand goes by the name of the Firewall, a mirrored double screen installation set-up that offers a number of AV options.
