“Of course, the ATX100 absolutely rocks large home
theater installations, but its sweet spot is elevating a
media room of any size to an immersive theatre-caliber
listening experience. We think this is a real opportunity
for integrators to deliver exceptional theatre audio
experiences to clients, regardless of budget.”
Acoustic Energy (AE) is proud to announce the launch
of the all-new AE100 Series. The new AE109 slim-line
floor-standing speaker heads up the new Series, the first
range launched under the company’s newly re-taken
British ownership and during its 30th Anniversary year.
Mat Spandl, Director at the company says: “We’ve
introduced our new WDT waveguide technology, an
evolution of the DXT lens developed for the Reference
Series and now found in our recently launched AE1
Active. This reshapes the high frequency sound wave to
give better room integration, improved imaging and a
wider listening zone.”
At the rear, slot ports are located to reduce
midrange colouration and improve bass response. The
external design has also been enhanced for a more
elegant slim-line appearance with a smaller footprint
for room integration. New cabinet finish options
include Walnut Vinyl veneer and Satin Black with full
length magnetic grilles.
Breaking the range down, the AE100 Compact
Loudspeaker is the The bookshelf/stand-mount option
designed to achieve high sound pressure levels
from a small enclosure, whilst the AE109 is designed
to offer effortless room filling performance from a
slimline floorstanding loudspeaker. Two 110mm drivers
utilising an ultra-high force motor system are used in
partnership with a 28mm Wide Dispersion Technology
soft dome tweeter.
A bespoke design 2.5 way crossover system marries
the drivers by featuring a unique topology allowing high-
quality integration and power handling.
AWE offers its own range of easy to install, in-ceiling
speakers designed to offer quality audio performance at
affordable prices. Targeted at the residential sector, the
compact, low profile speaker range has five in the family
including the KISP-E130-LP. This speaker boasts a two-way
array design which includes a 130mm Polypropylene
driver and 19mm tweeter. This centralised pivoting silk
dome tweeter can be angled 30° in any direction from
the centre thanks to its ball and socket design, allowing
installers to direct sound exactly where it is needed –
especially in a surround sound setup.
The ultra-low profile circular grille is in place to
deliver a neat finish and attaches magnetically. AWE
recommends calling on this model when installers are
seeking a reliable and quality build at affordable prices.
Amina has been impressing of late with the sound
quality delivered by its latest release, the Edge7 which
has put the company at a new level of audio delivery
as well as enhancing the ease of use as the speaker no
longer needs to be plastered over. The speaker can be
used in traditional plaster board construction, but can
also be employed when dry-wall building techniques
are used. Once installed the speaker can be painted or
papered over in the normal way.
Amina also points out that buildings regulations
are something that all installers need to take into
consideration. There are instances where the finished built
environment complete with all lighting, AV and control
equipment needs to provide a one hour fire containment.
Amina then is keen for installers to learn that the
Edge7 invisible loudspeaker uses a new composite
material at the heart of its active soundboard, which not
only makes it stiff, light and damped, good for sound
production, it also means the product is certified to
BS476 Part 21 for use in 60 minute fire rated ceilings.
The Edge Series itself is made up of the Edge7
and Edge5. Edge7 is capable of handling 75W of
continuous power, a peak power handling of 150W
which combined with [email protected]/1m efficiency,
delivers high quality audio. The Edge7 can also
go as low as 45Hz. The Edge5 is a simpler product
suitable for less complex systems and can handle 50W
continuous power, 100W peak.
