WyreStorm has been talking about ‘ the right technology for the application ’ for a while now and our latest line of products for corporate environments are a perfect example of just that , with smart , practical AV solutions for meeting and huddle rooms that simplify things for both user and integrator .
Our meeting room concept was born out of the recognition that the majority of the more complex solutions on the market require significant configuration and are capable of far more functionality than the majority of customers will ever use . Similarly , the leaner solutions available can often fall short of offering quite enough .
For customers and integrators , the choice is typically to either go big and pay big for a system that will not be fully used , which offers a poor return on a considerable investment . Or mix and match separate products from different manufacturers to try and create a system that meets the client ’ s requirements , which complicates specification and installation ; increasing the chance of compatibility issues and potential points of failure .
Whether in a company , hotel or business centre , meeting rooms and huddle spaces are constantly in use by staff , visitors and vendors who all want to make the most of their time . Imagine entering a room , immediately scanning a QR code on a wall or desk with your smartphone and in 30 seconds having full control of the room and its technologies to begin your meeting . That kind of experience is priceless for both customer and user .
With our latest meeting room solutions we wanted to offer a different , more flexible approach to corporate AV that offered ease of specification , installation , reliability and use that is hard to find . And , importantly for the user , an AV system where you don ’ t need training to use the training room .
We feel we have achieved that with our latest line of complimentary WyreStorm products for huddle , meeting and conference rooms that are available individually or as a single , all-inclusive , competitively-priced meeting room kit .
The WyreStorm offering focuses on seamless switching and scaling over HDBaseT in the form of the SW-0501-HDBT or over IP with our NetworkHD NHD- SW-0501 presentation switchers . Both models offer high performance switching and auto scaling of 4x HDMI , 1x VGA sources over distance to a display or projector with additional mirrored HDMI output for local connection . In contrast to many meeting room solutions , we offer the convenience of wireless streaming for viewing documents as well as hardwired connections for fully uncompressed , zero-latency sharing – important with applications such as video conferencing , high-quality video , interactive software demonstrations and trainings .
WyreStorm ’ s own ScreenLink screen sharing and collaboration software supports content sharing from up to 26 Windows and Mac laptops / computers simultaneously , allowing users start collaborating in seconds regardless of technical expertise thanks to its simple three-step onscreen set-up .
Features of the SW-0501 include support for 1920x1200p @ 60Hz , microphone input with phantom power , stereo inputs and auto-mix stereo audio output , which make it ideal for the connection of laptops , Macs and computers , as well as media players such as Apple TV or media streaming devices , such as Google Chromecast .
Audio quality is a feature often overlooked in meeting room solutions . Included in the WyreStorm system is the AMP-001-010 HDBaseT receiver with Class D digital audio amplification for connection to wall or ceiling speakers for improved audio capabilities as well as avoid the lip-sync issues typically experienced when collaborating wirelessly .
A variety of options are available for the SW-0501 presentation switcher , including front panel , built-in Web User Interface ( UI ) and CEC support for on / off commands for screens and projectors . RS232 can connect to WyreStorm ’ s low-cost , pre-programmed static in-wall touch screen for simple no-nonsense in-room control of the presentation switcher .
Or for more advanced control , the SW-0501 features IP and RS232 to manage and control the switcher or external devices supported by WyreStorm ’ s Enado browser-based cross-platform control system , with both Enado and a wireless router both included in the meeting room kit .
The power and simplicity of Enado lies in its compatibility with literally any operating system on any web-enabled device and its BYOD connectivity that enables the customer to add their own personal control devices themselves using simple in-room QR code scanning or clicking an email or web link .
The result is a flexible total meeting room solution combining effortless connection and control of not only sources , projector and presentation switcher , but also audio settings , room lighting , blinds and room temperature to make sure precious meeting time is not wasted configuring the room .
WyreStorm ’ s line of meeting room products also includes an in-desk HDMI / VGA connectivity plate , in-wall HDBaseT transmitters , Cat6 and HDMI cabling .
