event, Teatro has several options to accommodate. “There are tables up the steps on the side of the entrance that offer an elevated dining experience. They get lots of light and a view of the restaurant so they don’t feel isolated, but it has a more exclusive feel. Finally, relax with some post-dinner conversation and a tableside flambéed coffee—several options are available, many with alcohol, in a caramelized sugar-rimmed glass. “It’s a great thing to do as a group of people. It’s something a little different, a little special, a little out of the norm,” says Hy’s Steakhouse’s general manager Barb Steen. “It makes it really cool because you have all these waiters at your service cooking and doing theatrical things with flames—it’s really fun. We encourage guests to ask questions and be involved.” Guests are welcome to participate in the process and join the chefs to learn how to flambé. For the most intimate tableside experience, request a private dining room—the sleek Alberta Room, or the cozy Den and Library. “[Tableside service is] something a little different, a little special, a little out of the norm” PHOTOGRAPHS: (8,9) COURTESY TEATRO RESTAURANT; (10-12) COURTESY ANSTICE COMMUNICATIONS 8) Alcove seating at Teatro 9) Opera Room at Teatro 10) Preparing bananas Foster tableside at Hy’s Steakhouse 11) The classic Caesar salad at Hy’s Steakhouse 12) The Den and Library dining room at Hy’s Steakhouse dining experience and do call day of—or last minute—we are very accommodating and can usually move them into a quieter area of our alcoves.
