his career are now fetching north
of $30,000.
“It’s amazing because some of
these prints have never been to
market,” says Ian Loch.
Unlike the proven auction
records of sale for historical pieces,
selling the works of contemporary,
living artists can be more
challenging, according to Yves
Trépanier of TrépanierBaer Gallery.
“Someone puts [a Ron Moppett
painting] out. No auction record.
No writing. It’s brand new. It
comes into the world. It challenges
everything around it. People
say, ‘well what the heck is that.’
Anything new is difficult for
people.”
TrépanierBaer Gallery has been
showing local, national, and
international progressive art for
the last 24 years.
“In our gallery we would define
‘great’ in a number of ways,” says
Trépanier. “Someone w
