Bali
Adventure
Tours
R
ainy season is (hopefully)
over and that means the
rivers of Bali are running
high so there’s no better time to
go and explore them. The white
water rafting on Ayung river
reviewed in issue one remains
one of our favourite activities and
if you fancy something a bit more
strenuous then Bali Adventure
Tours also offers kayaking trips.
If you’d rather keep your feet
dry then there’s also the option
of trekking or mountain biking to
explore parts of Bali you wouldn’t
normally reach. Essential Bali
offers a 25% discount on any of
the trips run by Bali Adventure
Tours and also 20% off rooms at
the Elephant Safari Park Lodge.

back in Bali
he Ritz-Carlton, Bali has opened, adding another star
to the Nusa Dua firmament. Set on 12.7 hectares of
stunning coastline, its 313 hotel rooms include 34 clifftop
and ocean view villas. The scenery is stunning, from the
180-degree vistas of the Indian Ocean to the lush landscape
visible from the 70-metre glass elevator.
The hotel boasts six restaurants and lounges, with its
Indonesian contribution, Bejana, offering access to the
Culinary Cave – a unique epicurean learning experience
with programs personally tailored to suit groups and
individuals. With the ocean front chapel it’s an ideal resort
for weddings, but families are also well catered for with
Ritz Kids, a fun-filled standalone adventure for the kids. A
welcome return to Bali for a prestigious brand.

E
ssential Bali was excited to hear that Anantara
Seminyak’s new rooftop venue is now open. The
MoonLite Kitchen and Bar replaces the former SOS
Supper Club and has been completely refurbished to
create a new drinking and dining destination.
Open from 4:30pm to 11:00pm every day, the new
offering’s contemporary design features Balinese
wooden walls accented by huge jars of colourful Asian
spices reflecting the contemporary Asian cuisine on offer.
The bar is an ideal place to watch the sun go down
before enjoying a stylish meal in the dining room or on
the open-air deck. We can’t wait to visit so watch out for
a review coming soon.
