Conclusion
I feel that it is appropriate to conclude my exploration of the ways in which David Bowie ' s " Berlin Trilogy " illustrates the social and political landscape of a divided Berlin by addressing the ways in which the influence of the trilogy impacts the world around it. Bowie ' s influence was genre-defying and spread far and wide. I feel that his work in Berlin was perhaps the most influential in the context under which it was produced. Bowie took a very simplistic, stripped back approach to his lifestyle in order to create something extra-ordinary creatively.
An example of Bowie’ s seminal influence that really stands out to me is Uli Edel’ s 1981 film Christiane F. Wir Sind Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo which highlights a lot of the issues present within West Berlin during the 1970’ s. its particular focus is upon how this generation has been abandoned by the state and draws attention to the drug problem present in 1970’ s Berlin.
