QUARANTINE READS
P O O JA PAT E L 3 R D Y E A R
Passing the time in lockdown can be quite difficult but thankfully I’ve had
some great books sat on my shelf that have been neglected for too long . If
you’re in desperate need of some great books to see you through this time
look no further than these great reads!
‘FOUR’
ANDY JONES
‘BIG LITTLE LIES’
LIANE MORIARTY
Since publish, this book has been
adapted into a TV series with
Reese Witherspoon and Nicole
Kidman (absolute queens) and
is honestly the quickest I’ve
ever finished a book. The story
follows three mothers, all with
different families and home
lives, as they send their tiny
children off to school at the
beginning of term. An incident
occurs with one of the children
causing chaos in this upper class
neighbourhood
where
stable
and quiet suburban life ceases
t o e x i s t . M o r i a r t y ’s s t y l e o f
writing is second-to-none as she
takes her readers through the
troubled lives of the seemingly
perfect families. From realistic
explorations
of
domestic
violence,
single-motherhood
and the troubling question of
whether children really are
mirrors of their parents, this
book has many twists you never
see
coming
and
characters
you find yourself attached to.
Highly recommend this book
and the TV series – 5/5

Moriarty made this list… what

Reading this book about nine
very
IMPERFECT
strangers
makes you feel as if you’re in
a trippy dream that just gets
w e i r d e r w i t h e v e r y c h a p t e r.
Nine people find themselves
at a health resort that is said
to change your life and help
you become the person you’ve
always wanted to become.
S o m e w a n t t o f i x t h e i r f a m i l y,
save
their
marriage,
lose
weight and just simply seek
happiness. The resort is run by
an eccentric maniac who plans
to show them the error of
their ways through downright
questionable
methods.
The
real
highlight
of
reading
this book was watching the
characters develop. Some of
these characters have been
through
real
hell,
whilst
others you just want to shake
and scream snap out of it.
Either way this is an insanely
unpredictable book with an
unsettling
undertone
that
makes you stay awake till 3am
