This course supports and enhances listening and speaking skills in the content areas and references the five basic WIDA standards with emphasis on the listening and speaking skills in the content areas. This course has no prerequisite, and course placement should be based on the proficiency level of the individual ELLs: The suggested Composite Proficiency Level of the student is CPL 2-3. ESOL Elective courses can be scheduled to help students get ready for more advanced core classes or scheduled concurrently with a core class as a support.
