b. Leaders may use informal AARs as on-the-spot coaching tools while reviewing Soldier and unit performance
during training. Informal AARs maximize training value because all unit members are actively involved. They learn
what to do, how to do it, and the importance of the roles they play at the individual level in unit-task accomplishment.

c. Informal AARs will be conducted during and after training events by cadre to enhance training knowledge of the
Soldiers and to reinforce task proficiency.

d. Sensing sessions are informal group discussions used by commanders to gather feedback and information about
the command climate, the unit, and training conducted.
