Designed by InTown Architecture, owned by the architectures Alexandre Gedeon and Hugo Schwartz this 160m² apartment is located in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. The client, a european fashion designer who has the space as a refuge to rest in the city, presented the office with a drawing made by him with a series of references for decoration.

The property that was closed a few years ago, has been completely renovated. Starting from scratch, the office completely demolished the interior. So, the spaces were defined as follows: Room and dining, living and kitchen fully integrated. The master suite is covered by blue tiles, integrated into the bathroom and walk-in closet (it was a client's choice to keep the same tile). In addition, we have a wood cladding guest suite integrated to the bathroom and closet, laundry and toilet.

About lighting and ventilation, the living room was completely opened and a large sliding door was installed in the main suite. Therefore, the suite stays permanently integrated with the living room, increasing window openings and, consequently, the natural lighting and ventilation.

The choice of the epoxy floor of the room was a consequence of the client's request for a "material without slits and easy to clean, like a painting". The wood for the walls was the office's suggestion to "heat up" the environment (the wood coverings on the pillars are originally round), composing with the floor totally white and without details. Subsequently, with the finished work and decoration mounted, the client designed the two "rugs" in epoxy. The sofas were designed by InTown and produced in masonry and concrete, in the work itself.

During the development of the project, the client didn’t wanted change the ceiling, and at the same time, would not like to separate the walls. The solution was to import special air conditioning equipment that stays on the floor and install inside the wood panels that divide the suite of the room.

An important solution of the project was the use of lighting rails without the need to lower the ceiling and giving greater mobility in case of future changes.

The clients chose coating who was low maintenance and easy cleaning.
