Exploring Thailand

After we only visited the capital of Thailand during our Asia trip in 2016, we wanted to explore more of this country! Especially cause I’m a fan of Thai food & due to the countless inspiring Thailand pics I saw on instagram I could persuade my boyfriend to this trip.

PHUKET

We landed in Phuket, which is mostly famous for its crazy night life in Patong. But to be honest I didn’t like it at all. Everything is packed and full of tourists, shabby bars everywhere and an absolutely crowded beach! It reminded me of “Ballermann” on Mallorca!

Luckily our accomodation was located at the most southern point of the island and this place was super quite and relaxing.

Also our second accomodation was quiet but a little closer to the the touristic center.

Most of our time in Phuket we used for recovery and soaking up a lot of sun. But the area also has some nice Must See’s:

Big Buddha Phuket

As the name already implies its a huge sitting Buddha statue which was only finished in 2008. As the figure is completely white and sits on top of a mountain, you can already see the Buddha from miles away! Cause of this high location you get a wonderful view over the area during your visit. You can drive up to the mountain by car but to reach the Buddha you still have to climb up some stairs to the platform where you can walk around the great statue.

There is no entrance fee but you will find some small stalls where you can buy some bells, pendants etc for a small donation – write your wishes on it and place it here next to the Buddha and your wish will come true.

Keep in mind to alway cover your legs and shoulders as a sign of respect!
