CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE
A key part of decarbonization strategies , carbon capture and storage ( CCS ) technologies are used to collect carbon dioxide ( CO 2 ) emissions from power plants and heavy industry , transporting it by pipeline or ship for underground storage – for example in empty oil and gas fields .
By capturing and storing CO 2 , the operator ensures it is not released into the atmosphere . This results in a cleaner environment , and allows
CO 2 the CO 2 to be used in other processes . Three different methods exist : pre-combustion , oxyfuel , and post-combustion CCS .
Servomex offers a range of gas analysis solutions for all three CCS processes , led by the SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact 2500 photometric analyzer , which uses Infrared and Gas Filter Correlation technologies to measure CO 2 at percentage and parts-per-million levels .
BACKING THE CARBON NET-ZERO PLEDGE
Servomex has joined the global pledge to achieve carbon net-zero by 2030 . We are members of the Business Ambition for 1.5 ° C campaign run by Science Based Targets ( SBTi ), which aims to keep the global temperature rise to 1.5 ° C above pre-industrial levels .
