KEY MEASUREMENTS

Impurities
Installed after the compressor, a SERVOPRO FID analyzer using Flame Ionization Detector technology will monitor the total hydrocarbon( THC) levels down to parts-per-billion( ppb) levels. This ensures the THC is maintained below flammable limits.
A FID also monitors THC after the molecular sieve absorber stage, to check that the hydrocarbons have been removed from the air to within required purity specifications.
The AquaXact 1688 moisture sensor can also be installed at these locations, monitoring H 2 O content in the air before and after cooling. These unique sensors also can be used to control the regeneration process for molecular sieve absorber beds.
A SERVOPRO Chroma provides a versatile, Gas Chromatography-based solution to the monitoring of other impurities, to ensure filtration of the air has been effective prior to cooling.
There is also a requirement to measure CO 2 as an impurity. To accomplish this, a SERVOPRO MultiExact 4100, configured with a Gas Filter Correlation sensor, is installed after the molecular sieve absorber.
These measurements provide insight into the effectiveness of the removal of CO 2, THC, and H 2 O from the air as it is filtered, compressed, and cooled, monitoring the quality of the air before the distillation process begins.
