Ericka is the CEO of E.S. Kosmetix. E.S. Kosmetix a division inside the corporation House of LC, Inc. Ericka’s mission is to empower women and men with her cosmetics and skincare line because she believes that someone as simple as cosmetics and skincare life can truly change a person because it changed her.
A little bit of background on Ericka and how ESK started is that Ericka once thought that she was ugly, was rejected, hurt and many other things. Someone told her “no matter how you feel, put on makeup everyday”.
So, Ericka began putting on makeup everyday and noticed how it started to transform her on the inside. She would put on lipstick and speak daily affirmations to herself. She started to get compliments from other people and it shocked her.
She was not used to getting compliments from people because in a previous situation she was really secluded and all she heard was negative about her appearance, so when she started to get compliments that truly boosted her self-esteem. It showed her that she was not all the things that she was previously told. She began “experimenting” with different lipstick colors and when she did that, she didn’t realize it was bringing out her boldness. Ericka started to care about her body more, started working out and this all showed self-love, which is something she had never done in her entire life. “So many women and men, can get wrapped up in everyday life. You may be a mother, house wife taking care of your entire family or just really busy so you eliminate the most important thing
which is taking time away from getting to know your body and taking care of your skin. This is a mistake that so many of us make. When you take away a simple thing such as spending less time on grooming and caring for yourself, which is when it starts. I’m here to help everyone get that back and I pray that I can be used to help motivate people; because the key is love…self-love is a HUGE factor in that. You can’t show true love if you don’t love yourself.”
E.S. Kosmetix is more than focusing on the outward appearance. We truly hope to inspire people. Ericka uses funds from E.S. Kosmetix to help with battered women and children shelters, as well as battered men and children. She also donates cosmetics to programs that deal with women transitioning into the work force, whether that is due to being saved from sex trafficking, abuse and many other things.
