In 1995 at the annual rally, we had the most fantastic V. E. Day Anniversary Celebrations, on Saturday evening it was to be fancy dress as in war days and it was brilliant, practically everyone took part and it proved to be a memorable occasion.
The big flood of 2000 saw Geoff and a few others helping to try and stop boats sinking. It was a dangerous job as the water was up to their waists. Sadly 3 boats sank. Photographs of the flood are in HQ.
We have had some very good canal holidays the Leeds and Liverpool being outstanding. The tidal Thames scared the daylights out of me, but Geoff found it exhilarating, we were thrown about like a cork in a bottle, I was relieved when we reached the tranquil waters of the non tidal Thames.
Over the years we have had some great times at the club and like nothing better than sitting out on the grass with our fellow boaters and having a natter with tea and cakes.
On handing in his resignation Geoff was given the honour of being made an Honorary Life Member, we will never forget the club and the many friends we have made there.
