www.ersa-stringers.com TIPS EU GPDR - Date Protection Laws Everyone who holds data on their customers in the EU are affected by the new laws. In Germany we have been told it is better to get every customer to sign a waiver that they allow you to keep their data on stringing or buying in your shop. Also, if you have data online, you have to request that everyone consents to you keeping information on them. Everyone should check in their EU country what they have to do not to be fined at some time in the future. More Re-Strings We have two ERT300s near the entrance to our shop. We label every racket after stringing, and encourage our customers to come in and test their tension regularly. If you have data on your customers, you can also send out newsletters reminding everyone to check the date of their last racket re- string and come in for free testing. We do not see any of our customers waiting until the string breaks anymore and have increased our re-string business to where it is the largest and most profitable department of our two shops. Slippery Fingers Whether you are stringing in the heat and humidity, or under stress like taking a Pro Tour Stringer certification, or doing an on- court in a tournament and nervous, it is really difficult to weave the crosses if they are slipping through your fingers. We have had a couple of good liquids to keep your hands dry and not sweating. Another way we have found to help a lot of stringers is with mountain climbing tape on the fingers. This is also good at the end of a Grand Slam if you are getting calluses on your fingers and not getting a grip on smooth polys. 28 ERSA PRO STRINGER // ISSUE 4-2018
